The Victorian PGA Championship will once again be contested at the Moonah Links Resort across both the Legends and Open course from the 5th - 8th December 2024. Last year saw our past Order of Merit winner, David Micheluzzi lifting the trophy
The Victorian PGA Championship is one of the oldest Tournaments in Australian golf. PGA Professionals have competed across the state for the chance to add their name to the Jack Harris trophy since 1922. This trophy carries the names of many of Australia s leading PGA Professionals including Peter Thomson, Ossie Pickworth, Peter Senior, Stuart Appleby and Marc Leishman.
The tournament, which is played in a pro-am format, will be contested over 72 holes of stroke play for the professionals, and there is a separate team competition played.
120 professionals and will play 18 holes on each of the first two days, with the leading 50 professionals & ties qualifying to play the final two rounds, for a share of the $250 000 prize fund. Furthermore, each professional will be paired with an amateur partner, and they will compete, as a team, in the Victorian Celebrity Amateur Challenge,in a Best Ball Nett Stroke event. Each team plays 18 holes on each of the first two days, with the leading 24 teams qualifying for the third round, and the leading 8 teams qualifying for the final round. Play in Round 1 and 2 shall alternate, with competitors to play one round each on the Open and Legends course. Rounds 3 and 4 shall be played on the Open course only.
The field shall be broken down as follows:
- 96 players ranked in accordance with the 2024/25 PGATA Exemption Categories
- 14 Tournament Invitations
- 4 State PGA Invitations
- 6 Pre-Qualifying positions
There will be a pre qualifier for this event played on Monday 2nd December. Players who are not exempt at the close of entries, will automatically be placed in the Pre-Qualifying round. There will be a minimum of 6 pre-qualifying spots available
Non member professionals are eligible to enter this tournament here. Amateur entries are not accepted for the professional element of this tournament unless players receive an Invitation
