Few sporting events capture the passion and embody the spirit of golf quite like the Victorian PGA Championship. Following a similar format to world famous events such as the Pebble Beach Pro-Am on the PGA Tour and the Dunhill Links Championship on the DP World Tour, this prestigious event offers amateurs the rare opportunity to compete alongside professionals.
The Victorian Amateur Challenge is open to all amateur golfers with an official Golf Australia handicap. Male players must have an official handicap of 25.0 (exact) or less certified by his home club. Female players must have an official handicap of 32.0 (exact) or less certified by her home club.
Participants will be paired with a Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia Professional to compete as a team in a Best-Ball Nett Stroke Tournament over the first two rounds. Each group will consist of two professionals and two amateurs, with the pro/amateur teams competing in a separate 4BBB competition
After the opening two rounds, the top 25 teams will advance to the weekend, with the top 8 teams progressing to the final round for a shot at the title.
Off the course, amateurs will be treated to the full tour experience, with access to three exclusive functions throughout the week and entry to the Players Lounge on tournament days.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Moonah Links Resort on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, the event will be played across both the Moonah and Legends Courses from December 11 to 14, 2025.
